THE WORKSHOP

A wheel that looks scrap usually is not

Most wheels that arrive here look worse than they are. A kerbed edge, a crack beside the bead seat, a hole that lets the tyre lose air overnight, or a rim that a pothole has pulled out of round: these are everyday jobs, on aluminium as much as on steel.

Everything stays under one roof in Tuzla. The welder, the press, the lathe, the grinder, the paint bay and the tyre and balancing machines all stand side by side, so your wheel never travels further. Eldin Hukić runs the workshop, and he is the person you discuss the job with.

The seam comes down by grinding and machining, step by step, until the line matches the material around it. After that the surface is prepared for paint or for polishing.

HOW IT GOES

From your photo to a balanced wheel

Five stages every wheel goes through once you leave it with us, from the first message to the moment you collect it.

Photo and a short description

Take a close shot of the damage and one of the whole wheel, then send them to +387 61 570 429 on WhatsApp or Viber. You get a first assessment from the picture.

Inspection in the workshop

Once the wheel is here the tyre comes off and the inside face is checked too. Only then does the true depth of the damage show, and whether a safe repair is possible.

Straightening and welding

Distorted areas go back under the press, cracks and holes are closed with weld, and a missing piece of metal is built up again over several passes.

Machining and surface

The welded or straightened area goes onto the lathe and the grinder until the circle and the bead seat run clean. Polishing or paint preparation follows.

Balancing and handover

The tyre goes back on, the wheel is balanced, and only then is it handed over. You can tell straight away that the rim no longer hops and the steering sits still.

BEFORE AND AFTER

What kind of damage is it?
How many wheels?

Hello, I have a problem with my wheels:

An assessment by message is a rough one. The real condition only shows once the tyre is off the wheel.

WHY SLOGA

Why repair instead of a new wheel

A repair makes sense when the wheel can be brought back to a state that is safe to drive on. When it cannot, we say so out loud.

The original stays original

A repaired wheel keeps its own shape and bolt pattern, so there is no hunting for a matching set and no surprises when it goes back on the car.

An honest answer about safety

If the damage sits in the wheel disc or at the root of a spoke and cannot be made safe, the wheel is neither welded nor painted. You hear that straight away.

Alloy and steel under one roof

Aluminium and steel wheels both go through the same workshop. There is no need to look for a second address for the steel rims off a van or a winter set.

Balanced before handover

After machining the wheel goes onto the balancing machine, because only spinning shows whether it truly runs calm. You drive off without a shaking steering wheel.

QUESTIONS

What people ask most often

Short answers to the questions that come in by phone before the wheels even reach the workshop.

Can a wheel damaged on a kerb be repaired?

In most cases yes. A scuffed or dented edge is taken back on the lathe and the grinder, and if metal is missing it is welded up and machined again. The tyre comes off first so the inner face can be seen, because that is where you find out whether the impact goes deeper than the rim edge.

How do I know if my wheel is buckled?

The usual sign is a vibration in the steering or the seat that grows with speed and does not stop after balancing. A tyre that loses air slowly with no visible puncture also points to a bent or cracked bead seat. You only know for certain once the wheel is spun on the machine.

What should I send on WhatsApp?

One photograph of the whole wheel and two or three close-ups of the damage, in daylight if you can. Write how many wheels are affected and the diameter in inches if you know it. The number is +387 61 570 429, the same for WhatsApp and for Viber.

Do you work on steel wheels as well?

Yes. Steel rims are straightened and welded just like aluminium ones, and they are machined and painted too. On vans and winter sets this is a common repair, because the existing set can be kept instead of hunting down a new one.

Do I have to remove the tyres before I come?

No. Taking the tyre off and putting it back is part of the job and is done here on the changer. If it suits you better to bring bare rims, that is fine as well, just let us know by phone beforehand so a time can be arranged.

How many wheels can I bring at once?

Anything from one to a full four. If a complete set is being done and paint is involved, it helps to get in touch early so we can agree when the car can stand without its wheels. For a single rim a call and an agreed time are enough.

Where exactly is the workshop in Tuzla?

The address is 3. tuzlanske brigade 128, in the Momanovo part of Tuzla. There is a navigation button on this site that opens a route to the entrance. If you lose your way on the approach, call +387 61 570 429 and you get directions.

When are you open and do I need an appointment?

Work is done by arrangement. The best way is to call or send a message, describe what is damaged, and then agree a day to bring the wheels in. That way the machine is free when you arrive and the job can start straight away.

Is rim repair the same as alloy wheel repair?

They mean the same thing in everyday use. Strictly speaking the rim is the outer band the tyre seals against and the wheel is the whole part, but people search for both. Whether you write rim repair, alloy wheel repair or wheel refurbishment, the work described here is what you are looking for.
